The meteoric rise in the past couple of years here in <a aria-label=\"Palm Beach (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/propertyonion.com\/property_search\/Palm-Beach-County\" target=\"_blank\">Palm Beach<\/a>, <a aria-label=\"Broward (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/propertyonion.com\/coverage\/county\/Broward\" target=\"_blank\">Broward<\/a>, and <a aria-label=\"Miami-Dade (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/propertyonion.com\/coverage\/county\/Miami-Dade\" target=\"_blank\">Miami-Dade<\/a> is nothing compared to the increase in these zip codes since 2000 rolled by.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sun-sentinel.com\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Sun-Sentinel (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sun-Sentinel<\/a> recently looked at how much home values have jumped since 2000 and found which ZIP codes have seen the most significant increases since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They used sale data from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zillow.com\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Zillow.com (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zillow.com<\/a> during their analysis, and according to their research and the data on Zillow, these 12 ZIP codes had the highest appreciation over the last 20 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/propertyonion.com\/property_search\/Broward-County-Hollywood-FL\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/propertyonion.com\/property_search\/Miami-Dade-County-Miami-FL\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Miami (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Miami<\/a> near Little Havana (<a href=\"https:\/\/propertyonion.com\/property_search\/33135-foreclosures\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"33135 (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">33135<\/a>): 311% increase with pretty right now on that mountain of appreciation. Of course, what you don&#8217;t see in the numbers is how the rollercoaster of values here went up and then nearly down to record lows before their current values in 2022. It was a white knuckle ride for investors holding on since the millennium began.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Take <a href=\"https:\/\/propertyonion.com\/property_search\/Broward-County-Hollywood-FL\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Hollywood, FL (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hollywood, FL<\/a>, for example. In the year 2000, the typical home value was just $79,422. That same home in 2007 shot up in value to over&nbsp;<strong>$250,000<\/strong>! Then just a couple of years after the great recession, the value dropped to $168,392 at the start of 2009, bottoming out at $111,203 by 2011. How much is the property worth now? An incredible $333,617 in 2022!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What is the lesson in all this? Real estate markets move in cycles over time.
