UnansweredOnly the mortgagee and mortgager know what is owed as of today on a mortgage. The rest of us have to give an educated guess using the dates and terms of the mortgages and an amortization calculator.
Title searches can only show you the origination amount, not the balance.
Only way to get the balance is a payoff request and you need written authorization from the borrower for that. Once you hold title there are ways to get the balance.
